Biography

Bill Beuttler, a native Chicagoan, moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts, in December 2000 to become a senior editor of Boston Magazine. He has since left the magazine and moved with his then girlfriend (now wife) to Swampscott, Massachusetts, on Boston's north shore. He has also lived and worked in Chicago; Fort Worth, Texas; Knoxville, Tennessee; Washington, D.C.; New York City; Red Hook, New York; and Athens, Ohio.

A wise magazine editor once asked Beuttler what he is passionate about. The idea was to help Beuttler decide what he should write about. Beuttler's interests include literature, music (especially jazz and, more lately, folk and country), sports (especially baseball), food, and travel — all of which turn up repeatedly on the list of stories at right.
