Bill Beuttler

Bill Beuttler is a journalist and the author of Make It New: Reshaping Jazz in the 21st Century (Lever Press, 2019). Since 2020, he has directed the graduate program in Publishing and Writing at Emerson College, where he is an associate professor. He has worked as an editor and writer for DownBeat, Men’s Journal, and Boston Magazine, among numerous other publications, and currently covers jazz for the Boston Globe. Beuttler began his career at the legendary City News Bureau of Chicago. He holds a master’s degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.
